Production

Today was production day as the workshop is nearing and we had to sent out all the cultural probes so that we can receive them by Tuesday (two days before the workshop) and then incorporate the insights from this study into our presentation at the workshop.

It was just cut, paste, print, edit, print again, fold, score, tape, again and again! I had to produce 6 packages, each with the book(with 20 sides), a letter, and 16 cards(4 each of the 4 icons) that go into the school bag envelope.

Once the pages of the book were printed, I took them to the copy shop and got it bound. It was quite amazing how they had machines for each stage, first the stapling, then the flattening of the book and then finally for cutting the edges of the pages to make them the same width.

Steven and I managed to send all 6 couriers just in time! But it was a great learning experience, right from designing the cultural probes, the layouts, to actual production, making a number of copies, getting the books bound, making stickers and pockets, designing the package, calling and confirming the addresses of the participants, calling up the courier guys, stamping the creation center logo and finally sending them out!
